How to Cook Bacon in the Oven

Because who doesn’t like bacon 🥓?! So in case you never made/tried it, let me show you how.

Paper towels, rimmed baking sheet or oven safe skillet
Aluminum foil-optional
Baking rack (Optional: Cooking the bacon on a rack makes the bacon crisper, and lets the grease drip off the bacon as it cooks.)

  1. Preheat oven to 375 or 400
  2. Take foil and align  entire baking sheet including rimmed edge (if using skillet or rack go to step 3.
  3. Arrange bacon strips on skillet/sheet/rack and place in oven
  4. Cook 12-20 minutes . This will vary depending on oven type. Also the longer you cook it, the crisper it will be.
  5. Remove bacon from oven and place on paper towel to absorb grease.

Below with directions with pictures :

  1. Preheat oven
  2. I used a cast iron skillet
  3. Add bacon to skillet/sheet/rackPlace in oven
  4. Cook 12-20  minutes
  5. Remove from oven and place bacon on paper towel.

So I recently bought an Amazon echo dot($49 for the house. My wife and I have been looking for more ways to use “Alexa,” the voice feature of the echo dot. Wow! Who knew there were so many options ? Not us. Originally we used it hilarious jokes ,news & weather reports. So I have started to make our home some what smart 🙂 . If you are wording what the what, let me explain. We already had apps to control our home thermostat similar to nest. And now that has been added to the echo dot voice command. I also added  hue hub(by Phillips), Phillips bulbs & dimmer remote. Several lights in several rooms can now be accessed by app or the the echo dot voice command. This is amazing!! Well at least we think so anyway. No hard wiring involved, very easy to setup. I would highly recommend it. I think we are gonna add some motion sensors next or maybe a Ring doorbell( Not sure yet and still the inner geek in me is overly excited

Finally I have a new  real estate website. Easy to navigate home search for your buying and selling needs. at  It’s a work in progress but checkout it and let me know what you think! Mobile app for android and apple on site.
